Volvo: Truck Market Won’t Improve In 2008
Volvo group, owner of Mack trucks, is not expecting a turn-around in heavy truck sales in the United States in 2008, or a reduction of oil prices.
Truck sales in the U.S. have taken a hit due to the high gas prices and reduction in construction work. Volvo’s truck division has around 15% of the market in the U.S.
There is speculation outside of Volvo that sales may increase late 2008 and into 2009 as drivers prepare for the tougher emission standards coming in 2010.
Time will tell.
